Critical Care

Our Critical Care Unit offers patients advanced technology and skilled nursing care to provide comprehensive cardiac monitoring, specialized treatment, and personalized attention during hospitalization.

The Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Haggin Memorial Hospital consists of four private rooms, each equipped with state of the art bedside monitors. A central monitor located in the CCU allows the nurse to remotely monitor heart rhythms of patients continuously throughout the hospital.

This specialized unit is staffed with highly trained, caring, and competent Registered Nurses (RN) at all times. The low nurse to patient ratio of 1:2 ensures only the highest level of care. All CCU nurses are certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. The CCU nurse responds to all cardiopulmonary arrest throughout the hospital and is an essential part of Haggin’s Rapid Response team.

The CCU manages critically ill adults and adolescents with acute cardiac, medical, and surgical illnesses.

We welcome visitors into the Critical Care Unit as the patient’s condition allows. We have developed the following visitation guidelines to provide patients a safe and restful environment:

CCU Visiting Hours:
8:00am – 2:00pm
4:00pm – 6:30pm
8:00pm – 8:30pm
Please check at the nurses’ station or use the phone outside of the CCU to contact the nurse before entering patient rooms in the CCU. For patient and visitor safety, health, and comfort, we ask that visitors be limited to 2 at a time and children under the age of 12 do not enter the CCU.
